This week Carrick Rugby and South Ayrshire Active Schools hosted our summer touch-rugby festival at The Glebe for pupils from the Carrick cluster primary schools, many of whom have received school delivery sessions from the Carrick Rugby coaching team during the academic year. With over 70 children in attendance from 5 different North Carrick schools and the weather thankfully on our side, the festival was a fantastic demonstration of team sport at its best.

Each of the teams played a number of 7-minute-long matches with a quick pitch change in between. The pace was fast and furious, and every single athlete gave it their all.

Congratulations to the Straiton and Kirkmichael joint team who clinched first place, with Culzean (Team 4) and Culzean (Team 2) coming in with second and third places respectively.

However, the skills and understanding of rugby taken from in-school sessions was evident in *every* game played and the progress made by all participants was extremely impressive.
